CONSERVATION

Camera Traps

Operational Policy
menuline

Safari guests are invited to become involved in our work in conservation as events occur. In the past this has included
opportunities to join us when capturing and releasing predators such as Lion, Leopard, and Brown Hyena. By their very
nature these events cannot be scheduled. Therefore we engineer some flexibility in our itineraries to allow us to integrate
special events into your safari (if you wish) at no extra charge.

Camera Traps

Guests are invited to help with our wildlife research by setting out camera traps under the guidance of our
experienced trackers. Camera Traps are simply motion activated cameras which can be set along game trails to monitor animal movement especially at night and have proved to be a very useful tool in leopard research.

Of-course we also capture images of other nocturnal animals, as you can see. We then retrieve the cameras a
few days later excitedly anticipating the results. Who knows you may be the first to photograph the illusive black
leopard, which has been frequently sighted in the Black Leopard Camp reserve. All images and locations are
logged by our staff and included in the Ingwe Leopard Project.
